For for the second year running Imperial Commercials Halesowen entered the Stourport Lions raft race to raise money for the Air Ambulance. The Raft Race celebrates the ingenuity, resourcefulness and competitive spirit of local businesses and local teams. 8 colleagues from the Halesowen Workshop and Parts Department built their own raft and entered under the Works/Company category. The team had to complete the course propelled by muscle or wind or both. There were a total of 46 rafts entered (15 in our category), the raft was splendidly named HMS Imperial and our team completed the race in a time of 2 hrs 39 mins, winning their section.

Other colleagues offered their support by standing on several bridges along the route and showed their appreciation by pelting them with eggs, flour, maggots and water bombs, a great day was had by all.

Next year we are planning to enter 3 rafts, the two additional rafts, one will be manned by Managers and the other an all female crew.
